Italian referee victim of revenge porn attack as private videos are leaked

An Italian referee has been subject to a vile revenge porn attack with explicit content stolen from her and shared on social media.

Diani Di Meo, 22, announced that private photos and videos were taken and posted on WhatsApp and Telegram.

The match official, from Pescara, shared the traumatic news with a lengthy video to her 113,000-plus followers on Instagram after reporting the crime to the police.

"I've been locked up at home, I've been crying and throwing up for two days," she told the authorities, according to The Sun.

Di Meo suspects her phone was hacked into and the report adds the perpetrators could face up to six years in jail for sharing the content without her consent.

As well as refereeing matches, she is a law student and has received many messages of support during the ordeal.

"These are private videos that have been stolen from me," Di Meo said.

"Someone must have managed to get into my mobile phone. Otherwise, I have no idea how they were taken.

"I have filed a complaint and the authorities will take care of everything. I thank all the boys and girls who are writing to me from all over Italy.

"It is a situation that I do not wish on anyone, I am trying to resist but not everyone succeeds. We must report these videos and the people who continue to share these things."

Di Meo also declared she hopes to "give a voice" to all those who have suffered similar experiences, adding: "I'm here to talk about it, many of us can't do it and hide.

"I hope to give a voice to all those victims who are blamed, when in reality the culprit is on the other side of the screen.

"Today the victim is me, tomorrow it could be a person close to those who maybe now are watching the videos and smiling.

"It is never the victim's fault, remember that. Always with your head held high, guys, always."

One of her followers sent their support in the comments section by writing: "We hope this situation will end as soon as possible and that those responsible will be identified by the authorities."

Another added, "I'm sorry. Come on Di, you are stronger than them," while a third well-wisher posted: "Come on Diana, we're close to you."
