Italian football expert reveals Maurizio Sarri's stance on Tottenham defender Kieran Trippier

Italian journalist Aurelio Capaldi has given his take on the reports linking Tottenham Hotspur defender with a move to Juventus.

The England international has been linked with a summer exit from the north London outfit and was attracting interest from another Serie A club in Napoli before the transfer window opened.

But it would appear the Old Lady are leading the race for his signature.

Capaldi was asked what he made of the Trippier to Juventus links now that former Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri is now in charge.

"Sarri began to appreciate him in the Premier League, so Trippier is an option," he said. “He’s very happy if the club manages to sign him.

"Sarri believes Juventus really needs offensive people on the sides and wants to make things happen.

"In Italy it is believed Juventus would like to get €60m (£54m) for Cancelo.

"They are prepared to give him away, to let him go, and they’ve already said to Sarri that selling Cancelo is a real possibility.

"So Sarri is prepared."

Trippier revealed after the Champions League final loss against Liverpool last month that he plans to sit down with Mauricio Pochettino to discuss his future.

"Of course, everybody has a decision to make no matter what player you are," he said.

"Obviously this club has been very good to me over the past few years and I'll enjoy my summer and come back in pre-season and that's when I'll have a sit down with the manager and talk about my future as I see a lot of speculation about me not being here.

"I try to give everything 100 per cent every single game, win, lose or draw, so we'll see what happens in pre-season."
