'It would be fantastic' - England rugby coach Eddie Jones makes Arsenal admission

England's rugby union head coach Eddie Jones has admitted he'd love to have the opportunity to move into football, stating Arsenal as his dream job.

The 59-year-old Australian has been in charge of England since 2015, guiding the nation to two Six Nations triumphs and to the recent World Cup final, where they suffered defeat to South Africa.

Formerly world rugby's coach of the year in 2017, Jones has also earned experience throughout his career as coach of Japan and Australia, as well as with club side Saracens.

Having ticked off many achievements during his 25 years of coaching in rugby, the former hooker was asked if he would be interested in moving across to football and admitted the Arsenal job appeals to him.

“I’d love to coach Arsenal, how good would that be? It would be fantastic," he told Talksport.

"I used to live in north London and I’d go to this cafe every Sunday morning, it would be half full of Tottenham fans, half full of Arsenal fans and the banter would be fantastic.

Arsenal are currently eight points adrift of the top-four places in the Premier League after just 12 matches, leading to an increase in pressure on current boss Unai Emery.

Consistent speculation has suggested Arsenal may move away from the Spaniard in the near future but, despite Jones' speculation, they are unlikely to hand the Tasmania-born coach a role in a different sport.
