Liverpool defender Rhys Williams has joined Swansea City on a season-long loan, after signing a new long-term contract that keeps him at Anfield until 2026.
Williams spent the second half of the 2019/20 season on loan at Kidderminster Harriers but was fast-tracked into Liverpool's first team last term as a result of the defensive injury crisis.
Season-ending injuries to Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez allowed the 20-year-old to feature 19 times in all competitions last season, 15 of those appearances came in the Premier League and Champions League.
Game time would've been limited for Williams this time around with Liverpool's senior centre-backs fit once again, along with the addition of Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig.

He'll continue his development in the Championship with Swansea City and it's a move he's excited about after the progress he made last season.
“I was keen to come here, it was one of the places I wanted to come to because of the football they play," he told SwanseaCity.com.
“Obviously last season was important for me. No-one could have been prepared for last season, especially me, with all the injuries suffered by centre-backs.
“The last five games of last season were described as five finals so I knew if I could do something good there, I would have put myself in good stead."
Williams isn't the only Liverpool youngster to join Swansea City on loan in recent years.
Former Red Rhian Brewster spent the second half of the 2019/20 season at the Liberty Stadium before joining Sheffield United on a permanent transfer in October last year.
The youngster scored 11 goals in 22 appearances for the Swans.
Williams added: “If I get anywhere near as many goals as Rhian did that would be a miracle.
“But I hope I can make the same impact because he did brilliantly when he came here.
“It’s also been a big influence for me to see some of my friends like Neco Williams and Curtis Jones go straight into the first team at Liverpool, it made me think I wanted a piece of that.
“Then it was seeing the calibre of players I would hopefully one day play alongside, that’s been a big motivation for me to try and get to that level."
