'It would be a disaster' - Swansea City fans plead with Graham Potter to stay amid Brighton links

They may have missed out on the play-offs, but Graham Potter has attracted plenty of plaudits for the way he's helped to steady Swansea City .

A hugely popular figure on the terraces, the backing from the Jack Army for the former West Bromwich Albion man is clear for all to see following an impressive first season in South Wales.

Despite two desperately poor transfer windows, Potter has brought an expansive and exciting brand of football to the club, while also nurturing the talents of a hugely promising batch of youngsters within the first team set-up.

His work has won himself plenty of admirers away from SA1 too.

Scottish giants Celtic were mentioned as a possible suitor last month, but that move never looked likely.

However, in light of Chris Hughton's sacking at Brighton and Hove Albion , the Englishman is now the red-hot favourite with the bookies to join the Seagulls this summer.

It would clearly be a tremendous blow if Swansea were to lose Potter, but they could be powerless to prevent him moving on should a top- flight club come calling.

Swans fans have already been busy reacting to the news, with some taking to social media to express their despair at his potential departure.

One tweeted: "Would be gutted if Potter goes to Brighton", while another wrote: "Done with the Swans if they ship Potter off at the first sign of some compensation".
