'It will cost them far more' - FSG sent Mohamed Salah contract warning at Liverpool

Liverpool have been told to pay star striker Mohamed Salah whatever he wants as he continues his breathtaking Liverpool career.

Salah took his season tally to 19 in 19 games with a brace against rivals Everton in the Merseyside Derby on Wednesday night.

And for former Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, if the Egyptian star wants half a million pound a week, the club should pay him that as replacing him would cost even more.

“It’s amazing news that a deal is close,” Kenny told Football Insider . “What will it cost to replace him? £150million? £200million? He’s priceless.

“If he wants half a million every week, give it to him. It will cost them far more than that to replace him.

“That’s before you even think about this player who might come in.

“Will he score the same amount of goals? Probably not. Then you have to pay him a stupid amount of money as well.

“Salah is the best player in the world, for me, there is no shame in bowing to demands.

“If Liverpool want to win the Premier League and the Champions League, pay the man what he wants before he goes elsewhere.”

Salah has played a pivotal role in the club's recent success under Jurgen Klopp, leading the line in the successful Premier League title winning campaign in 2020 as well as the Champions League triumph 12 months prior.
