'It will be hard for them to stomach' - Roy Keane makes big Liverpool admission

Roy Keane believes Liverpool’s Premier League rivals have got to give them the ultimate respect for what they have achieved this season.

Liverpool were crowned league champions for the first time in 30 years after Chelsea's win over Man City at Stamford Bridge last week.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are also on course for a record-breaking points haul prior after picking up an incredible 86 points from 31 matches so far this season.

The Reds have now added the UEFA Super Cup, the Club World Cup and the Premier League title to the Champions League trophy that they lifted on June 1 last year.

And Keane believes the Reds are currently reaping the rewards for their fantastic recruitment in previous transfer windows.

“It will be hard for them (Man United) to stomach (Liverpool’s league win),” he told Sky Sports ahead of Liverpool’s game with City.

“Whatever club you’re involved with, you have to give Liverpool the ultimate respect. It’s a fantastic achievement, it’s been a long time coming, but I think they way they’ve played.

“The stats will back that up. They’ve been outstanding. Klopp’s been there four years, the signs have been great the last two years.

“The recruitment has been fantastic, they’ve been very effective.

"People enjoy watching Man City, the way they play, but really the end-product from Liverpool has been fantastic.”
