'It wasn't me' - Abdoulaye Doucoure denies Lucas Digne accusation after old pals reunite at Everton

Everton’s latest signing Abdoulaye Doucoure has denied kicking new team-mate Lucas Digne after the left-back welcomed him to the club following his transfer from Watford.

Digne took to Instagram to show an old photograph of himself alongside Doucoure when they were in the same line-up as France schoolboy internationals.

He said: “From the U16 to Everton I’m so happy for you bro (not because you don’t kick me [any] more) just because you are an amazing player and an amazing man.

“Welcome in Your Home.”

The midfielder responded by posting an image of Digne lying on the ground hurt during Everton’s 3-2 win at Vicarage Road last season.

It was the first time the Blues had recovered from being 2-0 down in a Premier League game to win since they defeated Marco Silva’s Watford at Goodison on November 5, 2017.

Richarlison ended up pushing him away from his compatriot while Mason Holgate and Jordan Pickford look on.

Doucoure accompanied the picture with the message: “Bro I don’t kick you (it wasn’t me). Thanks bro, can’t wait to play again with you my man.”
