The residential sale record was smashed for Islington in April and another big result has just been recorded.
Joel Soldado, of Harcourts Newcastle, sold a stunning warehouse conversion with four bedrooms and three bathrooms at 27 Chinchen Street at auction on April 7 for an undisclosed sum that the Newcastle Herald believes to have been over $1.8 million.
The suburb's previous residential sale record was $1.41 million, set for another warehouse conversion nearly 12 months earlier.
Mr Soldado has since sold a renovated 1880s residence that backed onto Islington Park at 64 Power Street for $1.72 million. It was scheduled for auction this month and sold on May 28.
