Parisa said: "We called the ambulance at 4.42am after seeing him get attacked, we saw the whole thing. It was horrible.

"We were across the street when we saw the man start kicking his head and I mean, literally stamping on him and battering him.

"It was horrible, shocking.

"I would do the same for anybody. If it happened again right now, I would do it again."

In the minutes leading up to the brutal assault, she said she heard allegations being thrown around.

She said the victim was sleeping on the side of the road but was woken up.

The victim crossed over by the supermarket Sainsbury's, but was viciously assaulted on the corner of Devas Street.

Part of the road was cordoned off this morning by police officers and forensic teams could be seen going in and out of a blue tent.

Inside the tent, several evidence markers were on the ground.

Just behind the tent, by a brick wall, a pile of clothes and trainers were covered by plastic evidence bags.

This morning forensic teams laid those out.

They could be seen swabbing them and examining them in the cordon.

The officers could also be seen inspecting the street light.
