Leeds United returned to the Premier League by playing their part in an exhilarating game against Liverpool.
The Whites came from behind on three occasions at Anfield.
But ultimately, it wasn't enough to warrant a share of the spoils with the English champions sealing a slender 4-3 win.
Jack Harrison, Patrick Bamford and Mateusz Klich all got on the scoresheet against the Reds.
But two Mo Salah penalties, which book-ended the contest, ultimately secured a home win.
One of those scorers, Bamford, has revealed the "frantic" nature of the contest - a game that was played without any fans in attendance but was a pulsating affair nevertheless.
"The first 20 minutes were really hard - I didn't manage to get my breath until then!" Bamford admitted.
"It kind of flew by and was tough to get involved. They were pressing high, we were pressing high.
"It was frantic.
“I think before the game if somebody had 3-3 we’d have taken it.
“Getting so close and losing the game, even though we played quite well in patches, is annoying and frustrating.
“We showed a lot of character to keep coming back when we went down and we’ve shown that we can compete with the best of the best.
“Going forwards we need to be 100 per cent on it all of the time because with any slip up in the Premier League, you will get punished.
“We’ve learnt a few lessons, but we’ve shown a few positive signs as well, but for us we are disappointed we didn’t come away from the game with something.”
Despite notching 16 goals last term and playing a huge part in helping Marcelo Bielsa's side towards promotion, Bamford continues to receive critcism amongst a section of Leeds' fanbase.
At Anfield however, he showed a cool head when he pounced on an error from Virgil van Dijk to make it 2-2 at the time.
Despite a fine finish, he remains self-critical and believes he should have scored with a chance prior to the goal.
"I should have scored first, before my goal," he said.
"It's always nice for a striker to get off the mark straight away.
As I said, I should have hit the first one instead of trying to take it around Alisson.
"I'm kicking myself a little bit for not getting that one."
