Bournemouth midfielder Marcus Tavernier has recalled the horror of the Cherries' 9-0 mauling at the hands of Liverpool.
The Reds had endured a stuttering start to the Premier League season with consecutive draws against Fulham and Crystal Palace before suffering a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester United. But when Scott Parker's side visited Anfield five days later, they were subjected to a relentless onslaught from the hosts, who took out their early season frustration with nine strokes of the cane.
The result cost Parker his job and Bournemouth have steadied the ship since with a draw against Wolves and victory over Nottingham Forest under caretaker manager Gary O'Neil, but Tavernier still has dark memories of his Anfield nightmare.

Speaking on Football Daily, he said: "Obviously you can get beat at places, but it was the manner and the way that we got beat. It was disgraceful, if you like to say. It was one of the lowest I've ever been in my football career, getting beat 9-0 - it's unheard of in football terms.
"The best thing was that we had to show a reaction as quick as possible. We had a game not that long after and we showed that reaction."
Two finishes from Luis Diaz book-ended goals from Harvey Elliott, Trent Alexander-Arnold, a brace from Roberto Firmino, Virgil van Dijk, a Chris Mepham own goal and Fabio Carvalho.
The result was Liverpool's biggest ever in a top-flight league match, equalling the 9-0 demolition of Crystal Palace in the old First Division back in 1989.
