Atletico Madrid paid tribute to the atmosphere at Anfield in a classy message following their Champions League first knockout round victory over Liverpool.

Saul Niguez had initially given Atletico the advantage at the Wanda Metropolitano last month when he bagged the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win.
After knocking out the reigning champions, Madrid posted to their official Twitter account: "It was an honour to face such an exceptional side at a legendary stadium. The atmosphere at Anfield was incredible. Best of luck in the Premier League."
