'It was a tough season' - Nottingham Forest star drops transfer hint

Nottingham Forest loan star John Bostock has issued a message on social media to his parent club Toulouse.

Toulouse stand to be relegated from the French top tier after the Ligue Football Professionnel ruled that the 2019-20 season would be curtailed because of coronavirus.

At the end of April the French authorities decided that the Ligue 1 standings would finish with Toulouse at rock bottom, with just 13 points to their name and 14 points adrift of safety.

There were still ten games left to play at the time the decision was made and Tolouse's president, Olivier Sadran, has written to the LFP to criticise the decision to relegate his side.

Bostock, who signed for the Reds on loan at the start of the season, has issued a message to fans of his parent side and has hinted that he will be helping the club back to Ligue 1 once his spell ends at the City Ground.

"Sorry to all my Toulouse family," Bostock wrote on Instagram.

"It was a tough season but I know we'll be back where we belong soon."

Bostock had struggled to get into Sabri Lamoushi's matchday squad this season until the last couple of matches.

He impressed off the bench against Middlesbrough in a 2-2 draw at the Riverside Stadium and played the following week against Millwall.

Bostock, whose contract lasts at Toulouse for another year, started his career at Crystal Palace before making a controversial move to Tottenham Hotspur in 2008.

He has also turned out for Brentford, Hull City, Sheffield Wednesday, Swindon Town, Toronto FC, Royal Antwerp, Lens, Buraspor and OH Leuven.
