'It was a bit broken' - Neal Ardley hails Notts County for being a united force

Neal Ardley has told his Notts County players they have achieved something “remarkable” this season as they chase a return to the Football League.

The Magpies are just two wins away from sealing  a place back in League Two, a year after they were relegated on a dismal last day at Swindon.

Notts encountered one of the most turbulent chapters in their history afterwards as financial problems took hold at Meadow Lane until the Reedtz brothers bought the club from previous owner Alan Hardy.

But even then, Notts only had one week to prepare for the new season, but against all the odds, they have a chance to win promotion at the first attempt.

Ardley praised his players for what they have produced on the pitch this season and feels the club is united once again after the disastrous campaign in 2018/19.

“I told the players this week that what they have actually achieved this season from where we were last summer is pretty remarkable,” he said.

“They should feel extremely proud. This club was in a really bad way in the summer as we all know.

“At times last season it was a bit broken.

“But this season we have really connected.

"Between the fans and the  players we are one as a club. I’ve told them how proud of them I am of that.”
