IT team caps strong year of growth with shortlisting for national accolade

A Hessle-based tech support company has capped a year of strong growth with a national award nomination.

Jupiter IT has doubled sales and its team in the past year, and is now in the running for Services Company of the Year Award at the UK IT Industry Awards.

Launched in 2007 by Iain Powell, Dan Gladstone and Craig Paul - a trio of NHS IT engineering consultants -  they now find themselves up against some huge blue chip corporate operations.

Dan Gladstone, director, said: “When the world turned to technology at the beginning of the pandemic, the IT industry stepped up. For us, seventy-five per cent of our clients switched to working from home. We had to act fast to ensure all our clients were working as secure as possible. The Jupiter team worked around the clock to make this happen - part of the reason they are so deserving of this accolade.

“We are over the moon to be shortlisted and very humbled to be included in the national awards with such well known companies.

“Our vision was to be considered the best IT firm in the region and now we are acknowledged as one of the best in the UK.

“Other entrants for the awards include; The Bank of England, Ministry of Defence and Lloyds Banking Group. Considering the calibre, we are pleased to have reached this stage and feel excited at the prospect of winning our category overall.”

The event, now virtual, takes place on November 11.

Serving clients in Hull, Grimsby, Leeds and Scunthorpe, the firm was shortlisted based on the service levels, with a focus on proactive IT consultancy and cyber security, ensuring IT systems are running to their optimum and any issues are resolved in the background.

The management were also recognised for their focus on developing the team, which has gone from seven to 13 in the past year, providing weekly training and offering incentives for service improvement.
