It Takes Two launches 2020 Strictly Pro Challenge as dancers attempt world record

Strictly Come Dancing's weekday companion It Takes Two, presented by Zoe Ball, has announced it is launching the Strictly Pro Challenge.

For the first time in Strictly history, fifteen of the professional dancers are attempting to set a world record for the most complete fleckerls performed in thirty seconds.

Judging each of the attempts will be the pro challenge panel - Craig Revel Horwood and Official Guinness World Records adjudicator Sofia Greenacre.

During tonight’s attempt by Gorka Marquez, he manages to achieve thirteen successful steps.

As he kicks off the challenge, he is currently top of the leader board… but how long can he keep the top spot?

Strictly waved goodbye to Caroline Quentin alongside her partner Johannes Radebe after their dance off last week with Maisie Smith and Gorka.

This weekend will see  Motsi Mabuse  return to the judging panel after she was forced to stay home and self isolate following an "urgent" trip to Germany.

Pro dancer  Anton du Beke, 54, who was partnered with Home Secretary Jacqui Smith this year but was the first to be booted out, will become the first professional dancer to be seated at the panel.

He replaced Motsi while she was away, but he's set to pass the baton back to her this week.

Radio 1 DJ Clara Amfo and dance pro Aljaz Škorjanec will be jiving to Tina Turner's River Deep - Mountain High.

Maisie Smith and Gorka Marquez will be taking on the quickstep to When You’re Smiling by Andy Williams.

Meanwhile Ranvir Singh and Giovanni Pernice will be showcasing their American Smooth to Aretha Franklin's I Say A Little Prayer.

Bill Bailey and Oti Mabuse will take on the jive as they've opted for Blondie's One Way Or Another.

HRVY and Janette Manrara are going to be doing a couple's choice to Coldplay's Sky Full Of Stars.

Meanwhile Jamie Laing and Karen Hauer are going to be turning up the heat with a tango to Sexteto Mayor's Tanguera.

And last but not least, JJ Chalmers and Amy Dowden will perform a Viennese Waltz to Lauren Daigle's Rescue.
