It sounds like the Broncos will start Brandon Allen again in Week 11

After helping the Broncos defeat the Browns in Week 9, quarterback Brandon Allen will likely start again against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 11 after the team’s bye this week.

Allen completed 60 percent of his passes for 193 yards with two touchdown passes and no interceptions in Sunday’s 24-19 win.

During his media availability Monday, coach Vic Fangio spoke as if it was understood that Allen will continue starting.

“I think another week of practice will do him wonders, which we’ll do when we come back from the bye and we’ll have an extra practice that week,” Fangio said. “He’s at the point where he knows our offense and he’s been in our meetings since he’s gotten here . . . .

“[He] didn’t get here until after preseason was over. Now he’s getting an opportunity to practice more. Just practic[ing], I think, will produce the improvements we’re looking for.”

Fangio doesn’t think Allen played a perfect game against Cleveland but he does believe the QB can improve as he gets more reps.

Denver’s second-round draft choice, Drew Lock, will likely return to practice next week but he’s not expected to unseat Allen for the starting job, at least not right away.

Allen will probably get to start at least one more game.
