'It sets it up nicely' - Notts County boss Neal Ardley can't wait to tackle league leaders Barrow

Neal Ardley beiieves Notts County’s win over AFC Fylde has set them up perfectly for their clash against  the “best team in the league” this weekend.

The Magpies secured a 2-1 win on Tuesday night against Jim Bentley’s side as they catapulted themselves back into the National League’s top seven.

But they now face their toughest assignment of the season   when they travel to league leaders Barrow on Saturday.

Ian Evatt’s side look odds on to win promotion to the Football League and showed their class at Meadow Lane earlier on in the campaign when they romped to a 3-0 win.

But Ardley is relishing the task ahead after their victory at Fylde.

“It sets us up nicely for Saturday, which is a tough one,”  he said.

“They are the best team in the league and we will try to master them.

“To get three points on Tuesday tees it up for us to have a crack at it.

“That’s the nice point about the win. We just have to keep chipping away at the total we think we will need to finish in the top seven come the end of the season.

“After the Hartlepool game, to bounce back with two wins has been great.”
