'It's worse than a break up!' - Leeds United fans distraught as Pontus Jansson joins Brentford

Brentford have completed the signing of Pontus Jansson from Leeds United.

The defender has joined for an undisclosed fee and has signed a three-year contract with the option for a fourth.

The 28-year-old spent three years at Elland Road after joining from Torino in 2016. His first season was on loan before the switch was made permanent in the summer of 2017.

Jansson was a key part of Leeds' push for promotion last term with Marcelo Bielsa's side narrowly missing out on a spot in the automatic promotion spots.

As a result they dropped into the play-offs and were defeated over two legs by a Derby County side led by Frank Lampard.

A class act on the pitch, many Leeds fans assumed that Jansson was destined for the Premier League, meaning that many fans of the west Yorkshire side were a little bit taken aback to see him join Brentford.

Here's what the Leeds fans were saying on social media.
