'It's time!' - Arsenal fans send a clear message to Mikel Arteta as Man City struggle in derby

It is not going well for Manchester City this evening (Saturday) in their derby clash with Manchester United.

The Red Devils have opened up a 2-0 advantage at the Etihad Stadium, with first half goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial helping Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men into an early lead.

And that has got some Arsenal fans talking, with Manchester City's assistant manager Mikel Arteta being strongly linked with the managerial vacancy in north London.

The former Arsenal midfielder is one of a number of men who have been linked with becoming the next Gunners boss, following the sacking of Unai Emery last week.

Ljungberg knows confidence is key to improving Arsenal’s fortunes

The Spaniard was sacked after a disappointing run of results, with former Arsenal star Freddie Ljungberg placed in interim charge.

However, he has been unable to arrest the slump, with Arsenal picking up just one point from his two games as interim head coach, having drawn 2-2 with Norwich City and lost out 2-1 at home against Brighton & Hove Albion.

As such, some Gunners fans are calling for a decision to be made soon, with the likes of Arteta, former Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri and ex-Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira all heavily linked with the job.

But with City struggling, the message from some fans is clear regarding Arteta's future, as can be seen below.

Arteta is not the current favourite to take charge at Arsenal though.

According to Oddschecker , Vieira is the current favourite for the role, with odds as low as 2/1 that he will succeed Emery.

Ljungberg is 5/1 with several bookmakers, while Allegri is 6/1 and Arteta is 8/1 with some bookmakers.
