Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey has returned to Twitter and Arsenal fans have been in touch.
The Ghana international had not been on the popular social media platform since January 17, 2020 but announced he was back with a simple five-word message via his official account on Wednesday night.
"Hey Twitter, I am back," he tweeted with the waving hand emoji.
What Partey has done certainly caught the attention of many Gunners supporters who are evidently excited about the possibility of the 26-year-old arriving at the Emirates Stadium this summer.
Fans will have got a closer look at Partey in the Champions League as he helped Atletico beat reigning European champions Liverpool over two legs, and has been touted as a long-term solution to Arsenal's central midfield problems.
Having emerged as one of the most highly-rated central midfielders in Europe after several excellent seasons in La Liga, talk of a move to Arsenal has heightened in recent weeks.
It's being reported that the Gunners are interested in Partey.
According to the Telegraph who state that a source at Wanda Metropolitano has said there is "interest from an English club" in the Ghanaian who reportedly has a release clause in the region of £45m.
A big money move could depend on whether or not the north London outfit are able to seal Champions League football for next season.
With that said, some Arsenal supporters have got in touch with Partey in an attempt to move this transfer along.
Below are the best responses on Twitter...
Partey has previously put the Gunners on red alert with his admission to play in the Premier League one day.
"At the moment, I am happy at my club," Partey told ESPN last summer. "But in football, you never know when and where you'll be in the next day or year.
"The Premier League is a good league, it's very competitive and has some of the best players in the world.
"Hopefully, one day. I would like to play there.
"My agents are on it so I will leave everything for them.
"For me, I am happy playing football and I will continue to play where I am now until something comes up for consideration."
