Another game, another refereeing decision that seemingly went against Bristol City . But, in truth, defeat was not decided by Antoine Semenyo's reckless challenge and referee Darren Bond's interpretation that it was definitely a red card.

Plenty of City supporters feel aggrieved by the decision, of course, especially because it comes so soon after the frustration at Villa Park but the feeling among the fanbase post-match was of pride, celebration of a fine season and that the Robins may have fallen just short.

It was smash and grab stuff from Derby who scored twice on the counter-attack through Tom Lawrence and then Jayden Bogle, as the match was stretched and City were pouring forward.

City certainly had their chances and the expected goals (xG) total for the match certainly reinforced that with the Robins chances rated at 2.03 to 0.89, highlighting that a lack of offensive punch was their undoing.

All is not lost, with City still mathematically in the race for the top six but they are relying on defeats for Derby in their final two games at Swansea and home to West Brom, plus securing victories themselves at Millwall and Hull CIty. Here is a pick of the fan reaction ...
