OVERSEAS travel might be off the cards for the moment but Hunter residents have a chance to go "straight to the Antarctic" in the winter school holidays.
After a COVID-19-forced postponement last year, Hunter Valley Gardens' Snow Time in the Garden is back in 2021, running from June 19-July 18.
Hunter Valley Gardens general manager Srinivas Gopal said highlights of the winter spectacular included an ice skating rink, a 45m toboggan slope, Venetian carousel, tea cup ride and a 25m ferris wheel which overlooks the snow-filled grounds.
"Snow Time in the Garden is like no other event we hold here at the Gardens," he said.
"After postponing the event last year, we can't wait to see families enjoy this winter wonderland event once again.
"This year, the experience is more immersive than ever ... with the many snow-filled activities, attendees will feel immersed in an entirely different magical world."
