Manchester United are poised to sack manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following Saturday afternoon's 4-1 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road, the Manchester Evening News understands.
Defeat in Hertfordshire marked a fifth defeat in United's last seven Premier League outings and has acted as the catalyst for club bosses to decide that now is the right time for the Norwegian to be relieved of his duties.
Solskjaer has been under enormous pressure at Old Trafford in recent weeks following the defeats to both Liverpool and Manchester City and could count himself lucky to make it this far.
However, today's defeat to the Hornets is understood to have proven to be a step too far for Solskjaer, with United understood to be set to pull the trigger on his tenure, just short of his three-year anniversary since replacing Jose Mourinho, initially on an interim basis.
Although the club has not yet officially confirmed the Norwegian's departure, the supporters, unsurprisingly, have been reacting to the news.

A lot of fans have wanted this decision to be made for several weeks, especially after the defeat to City prior to the international break.
It is understood that Solskjaer will be replaced by technical director Darren Fletcher on a temporary basis.
