“It’s okay to pass on first down,” plane trolls Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh at spring game

Some things you run across just make you warm and fuzzy inside, yet provide a laugh at the same time. In fact, sometimes the truth cloaked in humor is some of the best advice one can get — especially at the expense of your arch rival.

It’s no secret that Ohio State has owned Michigan over the better part of fifteen years on the gridiron. It’s also no secret that all human life forms tied to the colors maize and blue are none too happy about being the Buckeyes’ personal punching bag.

Well, apparently someone with a lot of money decided to offer up a suggestion to breakthrough the challenges of beating Ohio State by advertising in the sky. You’ve seen these right? A plane flies above a large gathering with letters in tow behind it with what someone believes to be a very important message to action.

So, if Jim Harbaugh just so happened to be looking skyward during Michigan’s annual spring game, he may have seen some key advice imploring him to pass more on first down.

Yes, high up above a message from someone claiming to be the highest power there is (God) had the following message for Mr. Khakis. “Hey Jim, This is God. It’s OK to pass on 1st down. Let’s try it!”

Here’s a picture of God’s message courtesy of Tom Haaren of ESPN.

Now, I don’t know about you, but that’s pretty creative and likely awfully expensive. It’s unlikely this sign was seen on first down though since you’d have to be looking up to see the plane flying, and well — a running play wouldn’t put the eyes on the horizon.

Let’s give credit to whomever put this stunt together, though I have my doubts it was actually God. If that were the case, the almighty would have allowed the Wolverines to win more than once over the last fifteen years.
