It's official! Hamilton is the least romantic town in Scotland

Hamilton is Scotland’s least romantic town, according to new research.

Couples in the South Lanarkshire town spend less on each other for Valentine’s than anywhere else in Scotland.

Bellshill had the second lowest spending.

Kirkcaldy in Fife had the highest spending figure and is Scotland’s most romantic town.

Meanwhile neighbouring Motherwell came in at number 8 in Scotland as one of the most romantic places.

The figures were compiled by Lovehoney - the UK’s biggest sexual wellness brand - from spending stats on couples’ sexy gift buying in the build-up to Valentine’s.

Lovehoney spokesperson, product director Bonny Hall, said: "Couples in Hamilton are the least romantic in Scotland - spending less on each other than anywhere else in Scotland in the build-up to Valentine’s.

"Couples that play together, stay together. The key to sexual happiness is to be bold and adventurous, especially around Valentine’s Day."

Kirkcaldy came tenth in the national table which was headed by King’s Lynn in Norfolk.

Around 80 per cent of Lovehoney’s customers are in settled relationships and it experiences a big uplift in sales in the month before Valentine’s.
