It's not too late, baby now, to buy Carole King's ranch in Idaho

Nov. 02--Singer-songwriter Carole King's Robinson Bar Ranch in Stanley, Idaho, is for sale at $9.9 million.

Set within the Sawtooth National Recreation Area, the 128-acre spread has been belonged to King for more than three decades.

At the heart of the property is a restored two-story log lodge overlooking a creek. A detached recording studio, a caretaker's house, guest cabins, equestrian facilities and a greenhouse are among other structures.

Geothermal springs on the ranch provide hot water for two pools and produce the radiant heat used in the lodge and studio.

The 7,337-square-foot lodge features living and dining rooms, a den/office, a commercial-grade kitchen, five bedrooms and two bathrooms. Two stone fireplaces can be used to augment the radiant heat.

The caretaker's residence has 1,825 square feet of living space with three bedrooms, one full bathroom and two powder rooms. Features include a wood-burning fireplace, an exposed beam ceiling and a large deck.

Another house contains 2,046 square feet of interior space with two bedrooms and a bathroom.

The recording studio has a guest apartment on the second floor with a kitchenette and a bathroom. There are also eight seasonal log cabins.

Equestrian facilities include a new horse barn with six stalls and historic ranch buildings used for equipment storage.

King, 73, first gained fame in the 1960s writing songs for others. Her own 1971 album "Tapestry" catapulted her to stardom. She won Grammy Awards that year for that album and the hits "It's Too Late" and "You've Got a Friend."

Trent Jones of Hall and Hall is the listing agent.
