'It's not even close!' - Fans back Arsenal starlet to beat Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to award

What a month September has been for Arsenal.

The Gunners have featured in five fixtures so far this month and have the excellent record of not losing a single one of them.

Back-to-back draws against Tottenham Hotspur and Watford made for a shaky start to the month for Unai Emery's side, with many doubting their ability to see out a game from a winning position.

But the turning point came the following week when a Europa League victory over Eintracht Frankfurt was followed up by a late fightback against Aston Villa, and more recently, a 5-0 victory over Nottingham Forest.

While there's been a few shaky performances, there have also been some excellent displays which have been crucial to Unai Emery's side.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been the hero of the hour after four goals in four games this month set the Gunners on their way.

That's seven in seven so far this season, and 16 in his last 16.

Calum Chambers and Emiliano Martinez have also impressed this month.

The defender looked like his days in north London could be numbered but excellent displays against Villa and Forest have put him at the front of the queue for a regular starting spot.

As for Martinez he's looked very solid in his two appearances this season, meaning that he could be in line to challenge Bernd Leno for the number one jersey.

Aubameyang is seen very much as the headline act but according to the recent player of the month poll posted by the club on social media, it seems there might be another contender to take the prize.

Matteo Guendouzi has been a revelation this season with many tipping him to be a future captain of the club.

Here's what supporters have had to say on social media.
