'It's not Christmas is it?' - Leeds United fans react to Qatar investment takeover report

Leeds United fans have woken up this morning to a raft of rumours linking the current Paris Saint-Germain owners with buying a stake in the club.

It was been revealed, in Financial Times, Qatar Sports Investment were looking to acquire stakes in United, as they seek a move into English football.

However, those reports were quashed last night after it emerged Andrea Radrizzani has turned down the chance to sell a major stake to Qatar, despite the Whites missing out on promotion.

The group already own PSG and have invested substantial amounts of money in the club since taking over in 2012, which has led to their domestic dominance in France and left them challenging among Europe’s elite.

With the likes of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Edison Cavani all plying their trade in the capital, thanks to QSI’s money, Leeds United supporters have reacted positively to the thought they could be cash rich in the near future.

Not to try and spoil the party, but it is worth remembering Radrizzani has turned down this offer as he continues his push to restore the club’s Premier League status.

The Italian revealed in interviews this week he has no plans to walk away from the club, despite promotion heartbreak this campaign and is determined to lead the Whites back to the top flight.

After buying Leeds from Massimo Cellino in 2016, Radrizzani sold a minority stake to the investment arm of San Francisco 49ers in return for a cash injection of £11m, last summer.
