'It's impossible' - Pep Guardiola half-time team talk that inspired Man City and denied Liverpool title

Pep Guardiola's half-time team talk that inspired Manchester City to pip Liverpool to the Premier League title on the final day of last season has been shared.

The Sky Blues found themselves a goal down at the break to Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa side thanks to Matty Cash's opener and found themselves at risk of surrendering the top-flight crown to the Reds. Jurgen Klopp's side were level with Wolves at the break, leaving the teams tied on 90 points apiece at the interval.

City had already clinched one league title under Guardiola at Liverpool's expense during the 38th game of the season in 2018/19 and managed to repeat this scenario back in May after scoring three times late on to overturn a three-goal deficit.

The current league leaders have since released a documentary charting the team's progress throughout last campaign, titled 'Together: Champions Again', which features what Guardiola told his players to spark a second-half reaction.

As shown in the above clip, the Catalan coach tells his squad: "We’re going to go for it. OK, guys? It’s impossible to think about the consequences if we don’t win. It’s normal. It’s normal. But you have to be positive until the end.

"We need one goal. Then we will have the momentum and we will do it. I know you feel the pressure in the danger. It’s normal. The transition we did before the goal was crazy, we are closer to losing than the win.

"We would not be here if we hadn’t been the best. You would not be. I know we are going to win it, but you have to handle in here [the mind] in a positive way. Find the quality, guys! You have enough. OK? Allez."
