'It's happening!' - Chelsea fans go nuts as Petr Cech 'confirms' Kai Havertz transfer

Could Kai Havertz be on his way to Chelsea in the summer transfer window?

All signs are pointing towards that being the case as Frank Lampard looks to further bolster his squad ahead of the 2020/21 season after the signings of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge over the last few months and football.london understands that the west London outfit are closing in on getting the deal over the line.

Frank Lampard on the cup injuries suffered by Chelsea

In a potential boost to the Blues' hopes of signing him this summer, Leverkusen boss, Peter Bosz, has confirmed that he knows what the future holds for the Germany international.

All of which prompted one Chelsea fan to attempt to get an update from a trusted source.

Following the FA Cup final defeat by Arsenal, a supporter - by the Twitter handle @CFCEddy - caught up with Chelsea's technical and performance advisor, Petr Cech, and asked him if the club are signing Havertz.

Cech replied with a laugh and said: "Good try!"

However, the Chelsea fan has a theory that the laugh all but 'confirms' the Leverkusen wonderkid is indeed on his way to Stamford Bridge.

As expected, Cech's response has prompted some Chelsea fans to get rather excited on social media.

In further good news for Chelsea fans, Avram Grant is confident owner Roman Abramovich will sanction a deal for Havertz.

"Abramovich didn't have a problem with money before! When he wants something, he buys it," Grant told Stats Perform News. "He doesn't do things to save money. Whether they have more or less money, I don't think it's important.

"What I think is important is that they started to use the academy."
