'It's happening!' - Arsenal fans go nuts as Edu reacts to Partey and Aouar transfer plan

Arsenal supporters are reacting to a potential double transfer hint on social media.

football.london understands the Gunners want to stiffen their central midfield during the summer window.

Atletico Madrid's Thomas Partey is seen as the perfect player to add some dynamism to the side, while Houssem Aouar is one of many creative midfielders being tipped to join the Gunners.

And it's clear that fans are keen for the pair to be signed up, so much so that some are getting in touch with Edu.

With the technical director now assuming more responsibility over the Gunners' transfer dealings after the departure of head of football Raul Sanllehi, fans are getting in touch with the Brazilian over potential transfer negotiations.

In the hope of persuading Edu to get a double deal done for Partey and Aouar, one fan took matters into his own hands.

@essaaa_a took to social media and uploaded an Instagram story of a brief conversation with the Gunners technical director.

The supporter tagged both Edu and Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta in a picture with a caption that read: "@edugaspar and @mikelarteta en route to sealing Partey and Aouar next."

To which Edu reacted with a laughing emoji.

As expected, this exchange prompted a huge response from other Arsenal fans on Twitter.

One tweeted the classic 'It's happening' gif, another said: "Edu," and others commented with excitement.

With that said, the next most likely Arsenal signing is defender Gabriel Magalhaes in a £25m deal from Lille and Arteta has delivered an update on the transfer.

"Regarding Gabriel we cannot announce the deal yet, it’s not finalised," Arteta said in his pre-Liverpool press conference. "You all know he’s a player we like.

"Everything is okay when both parties sign. Sometimes that in the last stages isn’t easy but we are pretty positive we can do it.

"When we get him I will be pleased.

"He’s a player we followed and we’re determined he’s the right profile for our squad."
