Arsenal supporters have taken to social media after noticing Thomas Partey's activity on Instagram.
The Gunners are eyeing further reinforcements in the transfer window after confirming the arrivals of Willian, Gabriel Magalhaes and Dani Ceballos - who rejoined on another season-long loan deal.
Head coach Mikel Arteta is understood to be targeting a dynamic central midfielder to add some steel to Arsenal's spine, and Atletico Madrid's Thomas Partey is thought to be a key target.
Partey has established himself as one of the best holding players in Europe after stellar displays for Atletico in recent seasons.
And Arsenal have made the Ghana international their top priority in the summer window, with two bids reportedly rejected by the La Liga side already.
Atletico have insisted that the midfielder will only leave should his £45million release clause be met, but reports claim Arsenal are attempting to negotiate a lower fee.
Nevertheless, Partey's activity on social media has led to some Arsenal supporters to post tongue-in-cheek messages that he has dropped a hint over his intentions.
Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil posted a picture on his Instagram account after the Gunners' 3-2 friendly defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday.
The German did not make a single appearance for the club after the season restarted in June, but Gunners boss Arteta has hinted that the playmaker will be given the chance to be reintegrated into the first team set-up.
And after taking to the field against Villa to get some much-needed minutes ahead of the new season, Ozil uploaded an image of himself in action - which Partey liked.
Some eagle-eyed Arsenal supporters immediately responded.
One wrote: "Thomas Partey has liked Ozil’s recent photo. It’s happening."
Another posted: "Thomas Partey liked Ozil's post today," whilst a third tweeted: "Thomas Partey has liked Mesut Ozil's latest instagram post. This means he will sign for Arsenal."
The German previously made it clear he has no intention of leaving the Emirates before his contract expires, and claimed he was dropped because he refused to take a pay cut.
But Arteta has seemingly had a change of heart, and appears ready to give Ozil a second chance to prove himself at Arsenal.
