'It's happening!' - Arsenal fans delighted with 'mad' injury news ahead of Liverpool clash

Arsenal supporters have been reacting to the news that midfielder Thomas Partey is fit and available to face Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday evening.

The club confirmed that the 28-year-old is among the players passed fit for the difficult clash against the Reds at the weekend.

Partey missed the Gunners' 1-0 victory over Watford prior to the two-week international break and did not join up with the Ghana squad, having been an ever-present figure in Mikel Arteta's side before that.

Arsenal supporters, when reacting to the reports that the Ghanaian is available for Saturday, are delighted with the news.

Meanwhile, Sead Kolasinac suffered a "significant" ankle injury while playing for Bosnia and Herzegovina during the international break and is set to be assessed soon.

Liverpool, though, are in a much worse state than Arsenal when it comes to injury concerns, with Jurgen Klopp looking set to be missing Andy Robertson, Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita, Joe Gomez, Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones for the clash at Anfield.

However, Sadio Mane looks set to be available after taking part in training over the past couple of days and Jordan Henderson is reportedly "hopeful" of being ready after suffering a problem while playing for England last week.

Arsenal will undoubtedly be boosted by the news that Partey is fit and Arteta will be hoping he can once again "boss the midfield" at Anfield, after the Gunners manager's comments on the former Atletico Madrid man in September.

"He is a player who has to be one of the leaders, he has to be the boss in midfield," Arteta said after Arsenal's 3-1 win over Aston Villa earlier in the campaign.

The Gunners boss also mentioned in September that he has a "really important" role within the Arsenal midfield.

Arteta told Arsenal’s official website: "He’s really important because he is the anchor. He is the one that needs to read what is happening and make the rest better.

"That’s his biggest job, to get the right balance in the team and get the right fluidity in the team so we can attack.

"How he managed the transitions was top, he has the pressing and the charisma, and then he struggled at the end. He could not finish the game because he was cramping. But that will come up. He missed a long time but now he’s back again and he needs some more fitness back."
