It's going to get a LOT colder in Greater Manchester this week - and it could even snow

Make the most of the sunny weather tomorrow, Greater Manchester is going to get very cold this week and it might even snow.

Last week saw temperatures soaring to well above average for March.

Sadly though, it didn't last for long.

Temperatures are set to drop this week which may see some of the white stuff fall on higher ground.

Met Office forecasters are predicting rain, hail and icy patches across the region over the next few days.

Monday will be largely dry with sunny spells throughout the day.

The temperature could reach 12C.

But on Tuesday, it's set to drop to lows of 1C with showers predicted for most of the day.

Wednesday will see a mixture of sun and rain.

This could bring icy patches across the region and snow showers on higher ground.

Friday will be cloudy and windy with highs of 11C.

A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "Generally it's going to get colder from Tuesday onwards.

"It's a fairly unsettled picture through the week with highs of about 9C on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

"Early on Thursday we could see hail showers and snow on the hills. Snow is far more likely to fall in the north and in hilly areas. There's a chance it could fall on the Pennines."
