'It's going to be worth it': Rihanna says fans won't be disappointed by new album after four-year wait

Rihanna has told fans they are “not going to be disappointed” after waiting four years for her new album.

The singer’s followers have been eagerly awaiting her latest project, nicknamed “R9”, following the release of her 2016 studio album Anti.

Speaking about her new music, which was originally scheduled for release in 2019, the singer told Entertainment Tonight: “I am always working on music and when I am ready to put it out in the way that I feel fit, it’s gonna come out.

“You’re not going to be disappointed when it happens. It’s going to be worth it.”

She continued: “I’m not just gonna put it out just because people are waiting. It’s taken this long, I’m gonna make it worth it.”

Rihanna’s new album is said to be reggae-inspired, saying in March: “I feel like I have no boundaries. I’ve done everything – I’ve done all the hits, I’ve tried every genre – now I’m just, I’m wide open. I can make anything that I want.”

However, in recent years the 32-year-old has turned her attention to her Fenty range of clothing, lingerie, cosmetics and skincare.
