It’s Friday the 13th so here’s LeBron James dressed as Jason Voorhees

In celebration of Friday the 13th, we decided to look back at LeBron James dressing up like Jason Voorhees prior to the Los Angeles Lakers game against the Dallas Mavericks on Halloween last season.

At 6-foot-8, LeBron looked almost scarier than the real Jason when he arrived in a hockey mask and a dark green work shirt.

The Lakers would go on to beat the Mavericks by one point that night. LeBron scored 29 after he took off his goalie mask while dishing out six assists, grabbing five rebounds and shooting 11-of-19 from the field during the early-season win.

The “Friday the 13th” movie franchise is made up of 12 slasher films focused on the fictional character Jason Voorhees who drowned in a lake as a boy at summer camp before coming back to terrorize seemingly everyone who emerges on the screen. The first “Friday the 13th” movie was released in 1980 with the 12th installment hitting theaters in 2009.

LeBron’s “Friday the 13th” fandom has been expressed over the years in many ways.

Along with showing up to a game dressed like Jason, he also released a LeBron 13 colorway that was commonly referred to as the “Friday the 13th” or the “Freddy vs. Jason.” James broke the horror flick kicks out for the first time in 2015 when he dropped 31 on the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden to secure a Cleveland Cavaliers victory.
