'It's fantastic' - delight as video captures deer on edge of Manchester city centre

Wonderful wildlife is daring to get closer to Manchester city centre, as this video of a young deer - or fawn - in Irk Valley this morning shows.

The footage of the deer was shot by Andrew Charlesworth who works at HMG Paints in Collyhurst Road, as it gambolled in the grass near the factory.

The footage was then posted on HMG's Twitter feed.

Marketing manager at HMG, Paddy Dyson, said: "Andrew was walking into work this morning when he saw the deer.

"The River Irk flows through our grounds, and it's very unusual to see deer.

"But we've seen fish, stoats and even otters recently. it's fantastic to see wildlife coming back to an urban area such as this."

Established in 1930 HMG boasts a reputation as the UK's largest independent paint manufacturer. Offering innovative and compliant paints and powder coatings to a variety of markets all backed up with outstanding technical support and customer service.
