'It's crisps you f****ing tosser' Scots teen attempts accent challenge in hilarious Tik Tok video

A teenager has provided a bit of much-needed entertainment during lockdown with his hilarious attempt at a Tik Tok challenge with a Scottish accent.

Ewan McLaren, 19, tried his hand at the latest craze sweeping the social media site which asks users from different countries to pronounce words in their dialect.

The straight-talking student, from Montrose, Angus, didn't hold back when comparing his accent to an American Tik Tok user.

Ewan, who is studying social science at Dundee and Angus college, was not impressed by the American pronunciation of the words of “water” and “crisps”.

He kicked off the video and said: "Hello. I'm fae Scotland”.

When the American user said "chips" he joked: "It's crisps you f****ing tosser".

He then added that it's “water - not wader" before ending the video with a simple “awright. F***k off".

Ewan's hilarious video has since racked up 38,000 likes and has had people in stitches with his tongue-in-cheek approach to the challenge.

The student said he has had thousands of comments and messages from people who either love his Scottish accent or cannot understand it.

He told the Record: "The reason I did the video was because since everyone in the UK is in lockdown, I thought it would be funny for my mates to see.

"But then over the past few weeks it's blown up.

"I was really happy and found it quite funny how much it had blown up and I've gained over 2,000 followers - it's crazy."

"A lot of American people love my accent but can't understand it and everyone from Scotland who watches the Tik Tok say they are proud to be Scottish."

Tik Tok fans have been loving Ewan’s challenge - with some even saying they wished they had a Scottish accent.

One commented: “Ah Scottish people are the greatest”.

Another wrote: “I’m not joking all the Scottish people I know are all the same person just different skins”.

Elsewhere, a user commented: ‘Truly proud to be Scottish watching this haha”.

While another said: “I wish I was Scottish”.
