‘It’s been terrible!’ Ruth Langsford gives health update on husband Eamonn Holmes

Ruth Langsford has confessed that dealing with husband Eamonn Holmes’s health battles has "been terrible”.

Langsford has been in and out of hospital by Holmes’ side as he struggles with a series of issues, including chronic back pain.

Sharing their experience on ITV’s Loose Women, she said: "He was struggling with bulging discs.

"Then he had a back operation, which you know was always that nerve-wracking moment isn’t it? And then a few days after that he fell downstairs and broke his shoulder.

"So it’s been a really difficult time, so I took some time off really to be at home and look after him.”

Langsford, left, has given an insight into her husband’s health journey with her Loose Women co-stars (ITV)

She continued: “And then very sadly his mum passed away in the middle of all that so it’s been a terrible time."

"It’s a lot of bad luck. And these things come along, and you’re like, ‘Anything else?’"

Her co-star Carol McGiffin added: “You know what? 2023 can’t get any worse then, can it?”

Langsford replied: “I hope not!”

The update comes a week after Holmes described his recovery from a shoulder injury as “soul-destroying” on Twitter.

Holmes has also been dealing with the recent death of his mother (Eamonn Holmes)

The 63-year-old fractured his shoulder in a fall at his Surrey home, after just having had spinal surgery for the back pain.

He stepped back from hosting GB News ahead of his surgery, not long before announcing the death of his mother. He was later reported to be in rehabilitative treatment for his injuries sustained in his subsequent fall.

The presenter has been candid about his health struggles with followers and shared that he had received steroid injections in his spine as surgeons had initially advised him against the spinal surgery after he had three slipped discs.
