‘It’s all love’: Josh Bellamy signed with Jets because of Adam Gase

Adam Gase came over to the Jets with a bit of uncertainty surrounding him.

After an up and down tenure while with the Miami Dolphins, some critics wondered if Gase was the right man for the Jets head coaching position after the team decided it was time to part ways with Todd Bowles. Like Bowles, Gase didn’t want a lot of games while in Miami, but he also clashed with players at times.

While some still have doubts, one of the newest members of the Jets is a huge fan of his new head coach. Wide receiver/special teamer Josh Bellamy is a huge fan of Game. He told team reporter Eric Allen that the coach was a huge factor in him picking New York.

“Pretty much 90 percent of it,” Bellamy said. “Me and Gase have a pretty good relationship. I just love the way he does things and I know what to expect from him. It’s all love.”

Bellamy and Gase spent time together as members of the Chicago Bears in 2015. Gase was the offensive coordinator and oversaw Bellamy’s first action on offense after a few years of exclusively playing on special teams. The wideout caught 19 passes, including two touchdowns, for 224 yards.

Now in New York, Bellamy will continue his third-phase contributions while providing the Jets with depth at wide receiver. Meanwhile, he’ll be playing for a coach that he knows he enjoys working with.
