It's a wet and cold Wednesday but weather set to improve for Grand National

It will be a wet and cold Wednesday, with temperatures down to around 5C and periods of heavy rain.

Temperatures were down to around 3C this morning, and the city could be set for some heavy rain later this morning.

Temperatures could rise a bit this afternoon but the rain is set to continue.

But the good news is that the city is set for a spell of dry weather starting tomorrow. Thursday, Friday and Saturday are set to be rain free, which is great news for all those heading to Aintree for the Grand National.

And there is more good news with the Met Office predicting a dry start to the week.
