'It's a sad one' - Nottingham Forest transfer target tipped to seal £10m Leeds United move

Leeds United have been tipped to sign reported Nottingham Forest transfer target Che Adams by Darren Bent.

Website Football Insider have said that Southampton striker Adams, who was linked with a move to Forest and Leeds in the January transfer window, will be available for a knockdown price of £10 million this summer.

That's £5m less than Saints paid to sign the former Ilkeston Town striker from Birmingham City last year and a much less than the £19m Leeds are said to have bid for him at the turn of the year.

Adams will reportedly be made available after a poor season for Saints.

He has managed just 725 Premier League minutes this season and hasn't scored a goal for his new club in the top flight after netting 22 for Birmingham City last campaign.

Now former Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur striker Bent reckons Leeds would be the ideal place for Adams to revive his career.

"It's a sad one because I really like Che Adams, I've been a big fan of his but for whatever reason it's just not happened for him," Bent told Football Insider.

"Why that is, I don’t know - you can never quite put your finger on why situations don’t work for certain people.

"Unfortunately, it's just one of those things where it hasn't worked.

"I'm a fan of his, I like him, he's a good player, he does so much for the team - a big strong guy, holds the ball up really, really well - but he just hasn't been able to find the net consistently enough.

"First and foremost, among transfers and everything, you need the manager to believe in you.

"If you've got a manager that believes in you, that's half the battle.

"If you've got a manager who’s not quite sure about you, you’re always struggling.

"For me, I would like to see him go somewhere like Leeds and play - I would have liked to see him work out at Southampton but if not, then maybe go somewhere else."
