It’s a sad day when GB News is quoted

Marina Hyde says of GB News, “not a lot of people currently watch it” (Ofcom says GB news is not impartial, but how can that be true? It has every kind of wingnut going, 24 October). Perhaps not in GB. And maybe one swallow doesn’t make a summer, but on a cruise up the Norwegian coast recently I met a South African man, now settled in Spain, who was coming out with more and more bizarre and, to me, unacceptable rightwing opinions about UK current affairs, such that towards the end of the cruise I asked what his source of information was. “GB News,” he replied. To which my reply, out loud, was “Oh, that explains it.”

With a name like GB News, could it be that many people abroad think the channel is second only to the BBC for reliability and authenticity, or even better?
