It's a match! Transfer leaked on Tinder as Irish champions swipe right on new signing

In modern football, the method of unveiling a new signing is almost given as much thought as identifying the player himself.

For Dundalk FC, though, Tinder did the job. Albeit inadvertently.

According to, Twitter user Gary Ó Nualláin, the cat is out of the bag on Dundalk's latest new arrival thanks to the dating app.

One fan was browsing Tinder and come across a profile of 22-year-old 'Chino', who claims to be a "footballer for Dundalk FC" for his "first time in Europe".

A little bit of digging suggests Chino comes from the University of Illinois team UIC Flames, who ply their trade in the intercollegiate Horizon League.

Chino also goes by the name Jesus Perez and is a midfielder who has been named the league's Player of the Year twice and made the all-star team this season.

With Dundalk FC gearing up for the 2020 season, looking to win the League of Ireland for the sixth time in seven years, he could be quite the coup.

Here he is in action.

Tinder, it's how people (and clubs) meet.
