Miley Cyrus appeared in the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary special, but she is making headlines for an entirely different reason. The singer described 'Call Her Daddy' host Alex Cooper as 'creepy' for reportedly moving next door to her as a super fan. And the internet has had a lot to say about it.
Cooper, who is a fan of Cyrus, also produced and hosted the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary special. Cyrus joked, however, that she only allowed Cooper to host because she had no other option. The comments divided fans, with some taking offence and others insisting their idol was simply being playful.

Fans Defend the Joke
'This is clearly a joke, and of course, the miserable trolls of the internet need to generate drama from anything for interactions,' one fan wrote. Another added: 'Creepy superfan who moved next door after getting rich is peak celebrity banter — not a serious accusation. Alex has been openly obsessed with the show for years, even got a tattoo. This is just rich people neighbour drama with extra nostalgia. Internet turning lighthearted teasing into stalker vibes is why we can't have nice reunions.'
Others were more sceptical about the whole thing. 'That sounds way too wild to be real. Probably taken out of context or fake,' one person wrote.

Miley Cyrus Reveals 'Weird' Living Proximity with Alex Cooper
In one of the segments from the anniversary special, Cyrus revealed that she was the one who first reached out to Cooper about doing the show. Cooper was immediately on board, and Cyrus joked that since the two lived just a few steps away from each other, she simply walked over to make the hosting arrangement official.
Cyrus also said it was strange that Cooper acted as though she did not know they were neighbours, particularly since Cyrus had appeared on 'Call Her Daddy' in 2020, in an interview filmed in her own backyard. Ahead of the special, Cooper spoke with Variety about her excitement for the project, describing it as part of her company's plans to move into the producing space. For Cooper, the project was clearly a personal milestone; she has been open for years about how much the original show meant to her, even going as far as getting herself a Hannah Montana tattoo. Despite being a self-confessed fan, Cooper has remained respectful towards Cyrus throughout.
Reunions at the Anniversary Special
Beyond the Cooper moment, fans of Hannah Montana were thrilled to see Cyrus reprise her role. The anniversary special brought together a number of guests who were significant to the original show. Most notably, Cyrus reunited on screen with her estranged father, Billy Ray Cyrus — whose role as her dad on Hannah Montana was, as Cyrus herself noted, an integral part of the show.
The special also featured Cyrus' mum, Tish Cyrus, and fellow Disney star Selena Gomez.
Honestly never thought we’d see Miley and bill ray cyrus together again
