'It's a good job to take!' Aston Villa legend claims Rangers coach should 'definitely' plump for Cardiff City job as he remains on radar

Former striker turned pundit Gabby Agbonlahor has urged Rangers coach Michael Beale to take the Cardiff City job if it is offered to him.

The Bluebirds are into their second week of recruitment after sacking Mick McCarthy, with a number of names remaining in the mix.

WalesOnline understands that Beale is among a list of candidates Cardiff are seriously looking into, with the Rangers No.2 thought to be a young and exciting coach who could revitalise the Bluebirds' fortunes.

The 41-year-old is yet to manage at senior level, though, having worked at Chelsea and Liverpool in their youth ranks before becoming Steven Gerrard's assistant up at Ibrox.

And former Aston Villa and England forward Agbonlahor believes that Beale will harbour intentions of graduating into management one day and claimed Cardiff is a very good place to start.

“He could be [tempted into the Cardiff job]," Agbonlahor told Football Insider.

“Every coach has got their own expectations and ambitions, do they want to stay as a coach? Do they want to try and be a manager?

“If he wants to be a manager then it’s a good job to take. Cardiff are a good club, so it’s definitely a job you would expect him to maybe try.”
