Liverpool fans have been reacting online following the release of their club’s third kit for this season.
The shirt has been inspired by the Kop, the 1977 European Cup final and a history of previous yellow kits.
The Reds last sported a yellow kit during the 2014/15 season but were associated with this colour during the 1980s having worn six different shirts of this nature in this period.
The red-and-yellow chequered trim on the collar of the shirt is inspired by the passion and energy of the famous Kop stand.

While the shirt is also a nod to the chequered flags that dominated Liverpool's section of supporters in the 1977 European Cup final victory over Borussia Monchengladbach.
But Liverpool fans reacting to the release on social media have had mixed feelings about the kit.
The shirt is available to pre-order today and will go on general sale for purchase in-store and online from September 21.
From the 2022/23 season onwards, the 96 emblem will change to 97 in recognition of Andrew Devine, the 97th person unlawfully killed as a result of the Hillsborough disaster, but unfortunately, it was not possible for the club to make this change for the current campaign.
Third third strip has been constructed with 100% recycled polyester fabric, similarly to the home and away kit, which is made from recycled plastic bottles.
Fans who purchase a third kit before September 26 will receive a £10 Liverpool FC Retail voucher to spend in store or online between November 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021.
