'It's a fact' - Rafa Benitez makes blunt admission about his Everton team after Crystal Palace defeat

Rafa Benitez says Everton can’t hide from the reality that the players are 'not amazing in possession'.

The Blues only had 39% of the ball during Sunday’s 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace as they slumped to an eighth league loss of the season.

Benitez was hoping Everton would have caused Palace more problems on the counter-attack and says the starting XI had sufficient quality in it, to have done more on the break.

“With Fabian Delph, Andre Gomes coming back, Andros Townsend, Demarai Gray and Richarlison we have enough players in the team of technical ability to do that,” Blues boss Benitez said.

ADAM JONES: What Everton fans did should concern Rafa Benitez more than Richarlison reaction

“We played the way we played because they were pushing and doing well. Then we changed things to get more control and we were a threat on the counter.

“We are not amazing in possession. It’s a fact we have to realise.

“But we need to find a way to be sure we can get results.”
